JOB SUMMARY

The Global Luxury Sales Intern will primarily support the Global Luxury Account Directors – Leisure and the Director Global Luxury Sales and serve as a point of contact between customers (travel advisors), Global Account Director and Hotels.

The Global Luxury Sales Intern supports the team with pre-planning for events, including tradeshows, roadshows, and any customer related events as well as the following:

  • Field and prioritize incoming inquiries and manage distribution of these inquiries to appropriate hotel (s).

  • Enter, retrieve, reconcile, and verify information in Empower which involves sales activities and trends.

  • Support with customer facing presentations and collateral.

  • Perform general office duties to support the team.

  • The position will be based in the Global Sales Office Eschborn.

CANDIDATE PROFILE - Education and Experience

  • Candidate must speak, read & write German to high proficiency

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Marketing, Hotel or Events Management required

  • Fluent German & English required (written and spoken)

  • Knowledge of the luxury hospitality segment

JOB SPECIFIC TASKS

DUTIES

  • Provide support to direct report, Global Account Directors Leisure Sales with travel agent requests, follow up with hotels and clients where necessary for updates and record all information obtained in Empower.

  • Evaluate, qualify, and respond to leads in a professional and timely manner. Majority of communication will be via telephone and email. All communication is to be recorded in Empower including follow up details from the hotels and customers.

  • Assist in coordinating travel opportunities including Tradeshows, industry roadshows, sales appointments, familiarization trips.

  • Represent Luxury Group, Marriott International Hotel Brands.

  • Develop and maintain respectful working relationship at all levels of the organization, including Eschborn GSO, EMEA Luxury GSO and with property-based Travel Industry Sales Managers, while working within the hierarchy to ensure results and goals are achieved.

  • Knowledge of top retail accounts by markets

  • Manage special projects when applicable and assist Director Global luxury Sales where applicable.

  • Develop and demonstrate understanding and knowledge of key Leisure hotels and destinations.

  • Support Global Sales Office initiatives by assisting in increasing the GSO team revenue production, using negotiation skills to maximize conversion of group leads, while utilizing effective sales skills in overcoming objections

  • Maintain knowledge of Luxury Group, Marriott International Brands portfolio; develop knowledge of basic hotel capabilities related to numbers of rooms and meeting space capabilities and all hotel characteristics as relevant to Group segment.

  • Evaluate leads and offer comparable alternative Luxury Group, Marriott International locations to existing proposals, where applicable.

  • Assist with scheduling and preparing for customer presentations to accounts based upon customer needs

  • Proactively facilitate communication with the customer base and hotels

  • Communicate with clients to gain full understanding of decision making process including history, key decision factors, time line, and decision hierarchy

  • Maintain strong and collaborative working relationships with all members of Global Sales Offices

  • Produce production reports for Global Account Director – Global Sales.
