Seeking an energetic leader who will be responsible for maintaining The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club and leading the golf grounds team in day to day operations. This person will be part of a dynamic and successful team. Must be able to work outdoors in sun and rain.
Qualified candidates must have:
2-year degree from an accredited university in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related major; 2 years experience in the landscaping/grounds or related professional area or 4-year bachelor's degree from an accredited university in Agriculture, Horticulture, or related major; no work experience required.
Horticultural knowledge and landscaping skills
Knowledge of turf lawn care and maintenance procedures with emphasis on golf turf grass varieties
Knowledge of irrigation controls and pumping systems
Understanding the application of fertilizers, herbicides and insecticides
Understanding of the game of golf
Past supervisory experience of day to day operations of a golf grounds department.
Manages parts, supplies, and equipment inventories within budget.
Knowledge of governmental regulations and safety standards (OSHA, EPA, ADA, CFC, NFPA)
Knowledge of overall golf club operations as they affect golf grounds landscaping
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and must be able to maintain records and daily log as required. in English as well, by law.
