The W Music Curator plays an integral role in developing a long-term sustainable approach to activating the brand’s passion for Music at the property level. Having a great understanding of the local music scene, this role oversees and drives energy behind music at the hotel on a day-to-day basis.
The W Music Curator has a consistent presence in the hotel, to work on creative and strategic projects, including selecting and scheduling talent for live music W Happenings, booking DJs for regular music programming, and working with departments within the hotel to provide additional music touch points throughout the guest experience.
The W Music Curator should be the point-person for negotiating fees with talent and DJs and is expected to properly manage hotel budgets dedicated to music programming.
Manage and regularly refresh the schedule of resident DJs, ensuring quality, diversity and consistency of the music programming.

Negotiate contracts and fees with music talents, agents and labels, festivals...
Coordinate artist riders with the operational teams
Constantly seekopportunities to host music events at the hotel, in line with the W brand positioning and in connection with the relevant stakeholders in the industry
Develop creative and engaging music-driven event concepts in collaboration with the Marketing and B&F teams
Support the promotion of events and initiatives across all relevant music-focused platforms (online listings, social media, streaming platforms, etc.)
Work with the appropriate departments / teams within the hotel to provide additional music touchpoints through the guest and customer experience, including initiatives on how music can enhance programming at the hotel (e.g. Fuel programming / B&F etc.)
Liaise with the W Insider to provide insights into local music happenings and connections, to be included in the W Insider “Cool Hunter” monthly newsletter, and leverage any shared connections to enhance hotel guests’ experiences in the music scene – inside or outside of the hotel.
Be the face and voice of the hotel's passion for music - act as an ambassador for the hotel with artists, partners, media, influencers, etc.
Manage the hotel’s budget dedicated to DJs and music programming
Excellent networking and communications skills
In-depth knowledge of the local and international music scene
Connections and strong network with local tastemakers in the music community
Must be able to DJ
Versatile background and experience that extend beyond DJ’ing (e.g., entertainment, PR, marketing)
Music Producer/Production experience is a plus
A genuine personal interest in lifestyle events that is close to W’s core values and brand positioning (beyond solely music)
Excellent organization and project management skills
Good knowledge of social media
Basic computer skills, including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

You generally have a work hard/play hard attitude to life and you enjoy having fun at work as well! You thrive from working in a high pressure and high volume environment and can think and act quickly if need be.
A 28 hours-contract a week, including a 4-hour DJ set as a resident DJ, covers this position.
Working hours are flexible and include regular evenings and weekends based on the events programming.
You will report to the B&F Manager with a dotted line to the Director of Marketing.
