Part of the Luxury Group of Marriott International, Casa Brera is currently recruiting an Accounts Receivable to join the pre-opening team made of modern and authentic hospitality professionals.

Reporting to Director of Finance, the role will play a crucial role within the finance team, supporting every aspect of the finance operations. Being in a pre-opening phase, this role will have the opportunity to support the creation of an entire function from scratch, implementing Local Standard Operating Procedures in line with Marriott International policies and support drafting internal procedures.

  • This is full-time position, 5 days a week with 2 days off.

  • The starting date is estimated in July.

What you’ll do

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE

  • Ensure that all invoices with corresponding back-ups are processed correctly and in a timely manner.

  • Liaise with Reservation, Sales, and F&B departments regarding all disputed accounts.

  • Post, reconcile and balance credit cards and bank transfers on a daily basis.

  • Ensure accurate processing and allocation of credit card payments with Opera vs bank statements and credit card merchant reports.

  • Attend or review group run down arrangements/ meetings prior to group arrival to ensure group billing in system has been set up correctly by reservations.

  • Ensure all A/R accounts have a completed credit application form in their file and their credit references checked.

  • Perform daily follow-up phone calls for receivable accounts, which have an overdue balance and ensure payment is received on a timely basis.

  • Process account queries and respond to customer queries as required.

MONTH-END

  • Prepare month end journals and as per schedule shared by Assistant DOF and DOF.

  • Assist in the preparation of Profit and Loss statement monthly, to meet reporting timetable.

  • Assist in the preparation of balance sheet reconciliations and submit them to Assistant DOF and DOF for review.

INCOME AUDIT

  • Daily prepare Income Audit Pack as per standards.

  • Generate Hotel GRR, verify accuracy and share the report with department heads daily.

  • Prepare daily F&B cover journal and Income Journal adjustment entries when necessary.

  • Review daily banquet postings in Opera against copy of each BEO received from banquets to ensure accurate and timely recognition of revenue.

  • Test and check completeness of minor operating department revenues and F&B covers.

  • Review daily paid out / petty cash of the day report to ensure appropriate documentation.

  • Review daily rebate vouchers and corrections of the day report to ensure appropriate approval.

  • Prepare reports for Income Audit pack.

  • Collect Open Check Reports from F&B Outlets and ensure compliance with standard procedures.

  • Verify that complimentary room process is compliant to standards.

  • Check total of all ledgers (guest/ city/ deposit/ package) to ensure posting accuracy.

  • Prepare daily Reconciliation Report on a weekly basis.

AUDIT

  • Ensure familiarity with, and consistent application of, Marriott’s finance policies and procedures.

  • Assist AFC/DOF with Marriott internal audits (ISRA, CSAT, IPPA, etc.)

  • Assist in providing documentation for external auditors on a timely basis.

  • Assist in monitoring the Hotel’s compliance to Corporate and internal Policies & Procedures and to implement new Policies & Procedures when necessary.

What you’ll need:

  • A warm, people-oriented demeanor and a team-first attitude.

  • Passion for policies, procedures and systems.

  • Attention to details, problem-solving skills and multi-tasking ability.

  • At least intermediate English and Italian (both writing and speaking).

  • Previous in a similar role is a big plus.

  • Ideally, technical knowledge of PeopleSoft.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
