The Westin Perth Hotel, a rejuvenating haven with luxury accommodation, 5-star amenities and a dynamic city center location. The Westin Perth provides a refreshing location for mindful meetings or inspiring events.

About the role:

We are currently seeking an experienced Assistant Maintenance Manager to assist in managing and completing all the aspects of property maintenance and improvements across The Westin Perth. You will report directly to the Cluster Director of Engineering (The Westin Perth and Aloft Perth) and you will be responsible for a team of three (4) technicians. You will assist the Cluster Director of Engineering with training, contractor management, time sheet approvals and more. This is a hands-on role which will see you on the tools and in the operations daily with your team. You will be available to work weekends and have an eye for detail and never fail to strive for perfection, engage your team with a winning spirit and taking them along on the journey to deliver an on-brand experience.

Skills & Experience:

Your skills and experience will include:

  • General handyman skills, Trade qualification(s) are preferred

  • A degree in either electrical or mechanical engineering is highly desirable

  • Previous experience in a large-scale hotel maintenance department is desirable

  • Strong management and teamwork capabilities

  • Previous experience in with a PMS – Property Management System

  • High level of communication and computer literacy skills

  • Organized with strong planning, good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work under pressure with a ‘Can Do’ attitude and a high level of energy

Essentially you will be a confident self-starter and enjoy working within a senior team, possess a proactive approach and demonstrate integrity and care for your team and the business. This is not a role for the light hearted – you must be prepared to dedicate yourself to the development of the concept and be able to give it your all to ensure its success.
