JOB SUMMARY
As a Baker Chef Assistant, your primary responsibility is to support the Chef in the preparation of breads and pastries, ensuring adherence to quality standards and production schedules. You will be involved in every stage of the baking process, from dough preparation to decorating finished products. Additionally, you will assist in food preparation, maintaining kitchen logs for safety compliance, and ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area. You will also play a role in supporting the management team by participating in hiring, training, and mentoring staff members.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
2-year degree from an accredited university in Culinary Arts, Hotel and Restaurant Management, or a related major.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in culinary, food and beverage, or related professional area.
Candidates must meet one of the above criteria to be considered for the position of Bakery/Pastry Chef Assistant. The education and experience requirements are designed to ensure that applicants have the necessary knowledge, skills, and experience to excel in this role.
CORE WORK ACTIVITIES
Prepare and cook food according to recipes and quality standards.
Weigh, measure, and mix ingredients accurately.
Test foods for doneness.
Prepare breads, pastries, doughs, fillings, and icings as required.
Review production sheets and follow guidelines for baked goods production.
Monitor food quality using HACCP forms and production charts.
