JOB SUMMARY

The Director of Human Resources (DHR) is an integral member of the property’s Executive Committee and reports directly to the property General Manager, with a dotted-line reporting relationship to the Regional Director of Human Resources. The right candidate will have a high level of knowledge across various functions of HR and will be responsible for developing and executing the HR strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the property. In fulfilling this role, the person will work alongside peer Senior Leadership members to articulate HR needs and plans, provide leadership guidance whilst strive towards achieving company goals in the most effective manner.

The person will lead the HR team and will assume responsibility for talent acquisition, performance management, learning and development, associates’ wellbeing, compensation & benefits including the payroll function and HR digitalisation processes. The role involves taking responsibility of the budget and expenditure related to human capital.

The role requires the continuous evolution of the HR Business Plan aligned with property strategies and company goals to deliver HR services that enable business success. This includes driving action plans to ensure that targets for KPIs from the HR Balanced Score card are achieved. The person will also function as a strategic business advisor to management. The right person will embrace a growth mindset and eagerness to continue cultivating a culture of strong engagement and associate development.

Education and Experience

  • Masters Degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an HR Managerial role, or related professional area

  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven track record of achieving solid results

  • Proficient verbal and written communication skills

  • Conversant with Maltese Employment Law
