Sheraton Grand Sydney has been redeveloping their highly popular restaurant into Sydney's hottest new a la carte restaurant, opening in late November 2023. This restaurant will set the hotel dining scene alight and requires superstars to kick it off!
We are looking for a Full Time Commis Chef to join our team! You will be required to practice skills in assigned sections to the standards set by the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef. You will have the opportunity to work across our cold production kitchen, Room Service/Hot Production Kitchen and the new venue. This will ensure you are constantly learning and not repetitive.
Core Activities:
Ability to work closely with the Executive Chef and Executive Sous Chef to open a new ala carte restaurant in the hotel
Required to follow recipes and plate presentations in order to maintain quality standards of production and presentation
Lots to learn from the senior kitchen team in all the kitchen outlets - no two days look the same!
To complete HACCP / food safety training
Responsible for daily specials for relevant sections as requested
Communicate with the senior Chefs regarding menu items, problem situations or shortages
Willing to work in various sections of the kitchen to be a well-rounded chef
Use all equipment in a safe and practical manner, ensuring the safety of associates and guests
Successful applicants must have:
Unrestricted working rights in Australia essential to be considered for this role
1-2 years’ work experience in fast paced kitchen environment
Passion for all things culinary! Willing to learn new skills and techniques.
